Takahiro Ueno
Who here has heard of one of the D1 racing champions, Takahiro Ueno. This man has one of the hottest Soarers ever, he spent over 60K U.S. on replacing his body with compressed carbon fiber body panles and replaced every nut and bold on his car with $20 lightweight titanium pieces inorder to cutback on weight. Now that is dedication to a Soarer.

Very cool, yea seen his car a bunch around here, but if he's so focused on saving weight, why put a kit on it? Will it really help that much with areodynamics, or is he just sponsored by Vertex and he has to do it?

Taka owns T&E the company that makes the vertex kit.... plus i would think bodykits made of fiberglass, frp in vertex's and jic's case, would be lighter than the stock bumpers...... someone correct me if i'm wrong.

I held both my 95 rear bumper cover in one hand and my erebuni rear lip in the other. The erebuni is fiberglass and was heavier than the stock urethane bumper.

JIC front bumper is much heavier than the 95 stock bumper. The Autocouture kit is pretty light. JIC front bumpers are made of really thick fiberglass than of the Autocouture kit so it explains the weight difference. I'm sure the Autocouture kit is just as strong.
