just go down to the dealer and tell them you need that clip that hold the door lock assembly push rod to the exterior door handle...

dont buy the purple one ( thats for the key lock mechanism)...

Well,

i went to the stealership and paid $8.51 for the yellow clip, went outside and the @#$%^&* push rod had snapped off and was sitting in the bottom of the door.

He said I could either remove it and tack-weld it or try and find a salvage one.

Just when things were starting to come together!!

Peace,

jonny

Same #@$$ happened to me... tried to JBWeld that oval ring section of the push rod... I first JB Kwik Welded the two section together... That gave it enough strengh to hold while i put the full strength JBWeld on... but there were only two tiny points of contact.... i even snipped a paper clip and ran along the edges of the weld joint... but it still broke after 24 hrs of use...

But then again this texas heat is re-damn-diculous... So you may have better luck....

I ended up having to buy the whole damn lock assembly... 227 dollars.... and thats WITH my wholesale discount... No junk yard around me had an SC300 with that part.... Ive got the part number for a 95 SC300 drivers side.... you may be able to call the deal and find out what the part number is and then run off to the toyota dealer and save yourself some cash

good luck... let us know what happens..

HEy man,

Thx for the help. Mine is an SC400 - I wonder if the numbers are the same?? I was thinking about trying to tackweld it but I don't know whether it is worth the hassle?? What do u think??

If I remove it then I won't be able to lock my door - and knowing my luck I won't get it done in a day!!

Decisions!! This couldn't have come at a more broke time for me!!

Lemme know if u think it is the same part number and I will call Toyota. Thx for all your help man - it is greatly appreciated.

Peace,

jonny

I have the same problem, and have bought the new assembly, but i need a part number for the little yellow and pink clips. Anyone have them? No one at the dealership knows how to pull it up.

I believe they're called "gremlims" homie If your door problem is a door clip the part is like $3 at the dealer, they'll most likely try to sell you the entire assembly but let them know all you need is the door clip (if that's what's broken). I had the same issue and fixed it in 20 minutes for $23 (gave my buddy $20 because his arm could fit in the space and paid $3 for the part). The dealer wanted to charge me $200 to fix it, yeah...sure!
