This is off the subject of the aluminum gril..but these corolla light upgrades look like they would work in the SC400...

Hey Anthracite SC it looks awesome and for that price...the only problem is that I will need to write a couple of more numbers on the speedo to make it comparable to the SC's
still it just might work.
still it just might work.
Yeah..the speedometer gauge only goes up to the
speed of the corolla, but I bet there is a way to get one
w/a better measure.
I'm sure those pieces are interchangeable. that would result in a very awesome look. Can you do some research too to see if it's possible?
I'll find out too.

The dash pictured above is the dash on the soarer. The kind of dash we have here in the States is only found on the Stateside Lexus and possibly the Limted Edition Soarer.

I wish I could find the site... it was www.startrade.org or something like that, it is/was an Aussie Soarer/SC site. They mentioned something about trying to swap out the above pictured dash for the SC styled one, but all the connections were different and they couldn't do it.
has anyone ever looked behind the us-spec gauges? i wonder if it's possible to replace the leds to a brighter white or blue (like in the 2000 SC)

Yup.. that's the Soarer (SC400) Dash.... from a 93 model (mine
) . It is mph capable as well, apprently it just needs a minor conversion to switch from km/h to miles per hour. The people from UK who use miles instead of km/h do the conversion at http://www.japarts.co.uk so I'm pretty sure it's possible. about the connections, I just thought that they would just need different adaptors plugging in from the ECU? (not really sure as it is one of the things I cant seem to remove on my car). Can someone post a pic of the US dash so I can see what I'm missing out on? (or lack thereof? )
Cheers,
Toan.
I love the look of that dash. Can you guys find out?
once person is saying it's impossible. Others are saying it's easy.
Who's right?
I just want know..."where do I sign up?" =)

hehe, i never said it's impossible, just that it hasn't been done yet
I think that the website said how they had trouble converting from the digital component of the dash to the analog dash. anyways, here is a pic of the us-spec dash (clearest one i could find on ebay, there are a bunch more there)...
off/on topic, anyone know if that billet grille is the opening in the front of the front of the car (92-96)? the area that some people put chicken wire in.

awww... gawd.... that dash looks like it came off my dad's Camry!!!!! f&$^%#!!! having such a sweet car... and a dash that looks that common?? The soarer dash looks better than it does in the pic I posted before.... It's got the full hologram treatment, and at night it just glows and flickers in your face as you rev the beast up....
It's also got a numerical fuel gauge so you know exactly how much fuel you have in your car ( press the fuel button, and it shows up where the time is in the picture )
Of all the things I thought they would have kept, I would have kept the dash....
for a car made in the early 90's it was a ripper.... Toan.
Toan - thanks for the look at the Soarer dash - as much as I like my old US '92 SC4 analog - yours is what I might expect to see on a 2003 Lex concept car. And that's on a '93? I do tend to prefer analog (that I've seen on US cars) but I'd go for your digital - sharp!
