They use to be Gold, but a detailer used a high speed buffer and faded them REALLY bad, so I pull them off and painted them black. I like it, wanna know what you guys and gals think though.
Pain in the butt pulling them off though. Used an old credit card to pry the adhesive off then they popped off. Lightly sanded the gold off and used Rust-Oleum Pastic paint and 2 coats of clear. Then got 3M Trim and Molding glue to put them back on.

I like them like that man. I have a black SC and wanted to do that but the wife wouldn't go for it. Good job.

 

nice job .. i did the same with mine ie: i just kept the "L" chrome to offset the contrast...

 

i like them, it gives ya coupe a lil' different look.

 

that looks AWESOME!! I love the color combo on it, great choice man. Now I have to choose whether or not I want to do this on my black SC...anyone got more pics of black emblems on a black SC?

 

Originally I thought this would only look good on black and a few other select colors. Looks like I was wrong, blacked out emblems go well with your color.

I still don't think I can get away with it on my car though.

Thanks everyone.. I was a bit skeptical at first, but then I thought "hey it can't look any worse than faded Gold."

so I figured what the hell.

Do you think it would be too much if I painted the chrome grill insert black as well? I need options on that also.

I hope my opinion will be respected but for me personally, I like the silver color & on your color think the silver would look nice. Again it's just a matter of personal opinion. I have a black SC & I don't think I would like black emblems even on my color, cause it would just blend into the paint, of course that might be a what someone is after. I want to be able to see them jump off the paint color.

But then again it is different & it's what sets your car apart from someone elses.

Maybe I'll change my mind after seeing them on a black SC

 

You might be on to something here, I did a little PS. Looks good IMO. Besides, if it doesn't turn out well you can always swap in a new grill.

 

That's cool, what would we be without PS.
