Okay...I've found several threads about painted or tinted headlight housings. But they're all black...and they don't match the car's body color. None of the pics that I've come across were color matched...that's if they were pics and not red x's.
What I'm looking at is tearing down the headlight and painting the housing the factory color...including the corner light (though this will require the painting of the reflective surface ). I also want to do the same with the side-markers, and cover them with lexan sheeting. I've done this same thing on a Z32 and on my current Supra (or something similar), and am trying to get an idea of what it'll look like on the SC...a dark green one in particular.
I hope this thread brings up some good responses because I was wanting to do the same. Clear the ridges from the headlights and paint the inside for more of an updated look.
Yeah...I know about the ridges but the most I can see them doing is maybe distorting the view slightly. I think it might still look good...and clean. If the factory lenses turn out to distort it badly then I might cast a mold of the covers and make some vacuum-formed smooth covers. Only problem with that is it's a lot of work and effort for just one casting of my own personal project...know what I mean? Regardless...with a project like this one is foolish not to secure a second set of lights...lol.
Would you mind sharing how you seperated your covers from the housings? I've read over your posts concerning it but didn't get a clear idea.
