I've asked this question before. Seems like this unit was one of the first ones Toyota used. It is using vector style maps which are not the same as the modern units. Other than that, everything is also in Japanese and it has build in climate control which will be very difficult to install in US-spec SC.
You have better chances of getting the other GPS head unit which mounts under the the climate controls. It's a simple replacement for our standart head unit. Everything would still be in Japanese.
You could also try to get Toyota Camry GPS head unit. It seems like it could fit perfectly. The cost is pretty high.
alot of people say its not worth it, because you must rewire the whole car o make it work and it still would malfunction because its a diiferent system, but..... it would look hot just to be there but is worth it probably not. so Ali you know how to read the squares on japanese ebayLOL jk

nothing is impossible! for this particular project, i would consult the right people though....
i think it would be a very worthwhile project... i would love to get my hands on one of those units(just to play with). imagine getting this to work with an alpine navigation unit(minus the touch screen functionality of course)..install a remote eye near the screen for communication to the nav and voila!... with optional video inputs for dvd's. the fact that the climate control was touchscreen is reason enough to tinker with this unit...$150?... you can't lose!

I'm in Japan now if I have enough time I can help you out.
this seller is selling this unit as a junk since the screen has leaking problem like our A/C display.
just did a dearch on "denso"...no go. can anyone get a wiring diagram for this unit?(it would help out immensely!) just called lexus/toyota dealerships....no go on the part numbers:you can buy the unit from ebay or any other source, locate a wiring diagram and that should be a good start to this project.
another idea would be to get it and custom a touch screen in the place of the stock one(kenwwod, clarion, etc), configure the buttons to operate the screen and dremmel the top climate controls off, keep your original climate controls and fit the rest of the unit in that slot...just some quick ideas for a much sought after project!
I'm no electrician so let me state that first...now, in reading over this thread and knowing what I know about us wanting a JDM-looking screen in our cars I think the real part we should be examining is the outer frame of the tv and the buttons, the screen is irrelevant as it would most likely need replacing anyway. So if the outer bracket will fit our center console's then is it possible to knock out that old Jap screen and install a new screen with a whole new wiring diagram? I mean all we reallly want or need is the housing, the screen is an old piece of junk 99% of the time anyway...the housing is the important part as that's what gives it the JDM look...
