I'm in the manaray school of thought -- chrome is a little too for me.

Check out some of the rims made for the MKIV Supra -- if you get the itch to upgrade your brakes to the supra TT bad boys, you're going to want the right fitment. It'd suck to spend some good coin on rims, only to have them not fit your brakes.

yeah I agree on the chrome usually being a little too usually too but I LOVE chrome wheels on the pearl white.... Polished alum. looks great too but brushed doesnt cut it for me to be honest..... Black with brush alum. then yeah but I'm all for the polished or chrome. Thanks for the honest opinions though! keep them coming!

I love the Moda R6s (on clint's car above). If you could find some chrome, maybe staggered it would honestly be a beautiful thing. Me, I have a set of Supra TT wheels coming in that will be polished on my black SC.

yeah the R6's are what I keep looking at... they are just too perfect for the SC. My brother introduced them to me when he was looking at the SC's but he got a BMW instead..... traitor.......

my thing with chrome is also about weight -- it adds it. Call me a pound pinching nut, but the SC is already chubby! Yes, chrome doesn't add that much, but rotating mass is something like 8 times worse than stationary mass on your car (1Lbs on your rims = 8 Lbs in the car). I've got my eyes on a set of Volks.

Have you considered a set of highly polished rims?

In all fairness, I don't even like clearcoat finishes most of the time...

Maybe I just like the look of naked metal, that could be it.

I have a Pearl white Sc4 and a while back I was lookin at the Moda R6 myself. It looks nice if you get them in a staggered look. 18x9 in the back.

But I didnt get them because, in a way, it resemble a stock 17s GS4 or IS300 wheels on the SC.

Nice wheels, there is another member here have one on his 98 red Sc4, I think his SN is 98lexsc4 or something like that. there are pics of his car on the forum. I ve also seen in person. Absolutely good looking wheels.

Just my opinion

If you're satisfied with the car's handling, traction, and braking, I'd stick with the stock wheels and tires. Everything on the car was designed for them, and you're likely to have fewer potential snags or problems than trying to retrofit stuff. Insurance sometimes doesn't cover non-factory stuff either unless you get a policy suppliment...but this, of course, varies from company to company.
Of course, if you don't like the stock stuff, you can go from there.

I think I found another set that would look great. What do you all think of these?

JT you rim pervert! remind me never to leave my female android around you! lol j/k!...the moda's are nice, and I too think chrome in some applications are a little TOO eye catching. I'm still a fan of the Zauber Gettins and, if you can get some without having to go through the PITA dealer (from what I hear), get some IForged rims...in 19's of course, and staggered. That's what I think looks hot...depends on what your finances are looking like and how much you drive...keep in mind that tires aren't cheap for 19's...BTW, those GFG's are nice, I like those...if you must have chrome make sure that you can still see a good deal of the caliper and rotor through the rim. I hate chrome rims that look like a damn pie plate where the rotors can't cool adequately...
