Converting Cornering Lights. 93SC
Hey guys,
I have a 1993 SC300 and am wanting to convert the cornering lights to fog lamps. I know that on www.intellexual.net theres a step by step walkthrough and such, but before I get into it, I would like to know how long it usually takes ? estimated time of course, for a person that is not necessarily mechanically inclined. Do I have to do any major modifications. Is it hard to get to the wires necessary ? It doesnt seem like it would be too bad but id like some input from someone whos done it.
Thanks Guys I Appreciate It
Joey

I tried doing it. I followed the instructions, and it didn't work for me. I blew out a fuse 3 times before I stopped. All the parts cost about $20 dollars. It might help if you take out the battery out (take off the negative cable off first and don't mix the cables!) so you get some extra space. If you take the headlights out, you'll have a crystal clear view of the fog lights from above (do a search on how to remove the headlights, the first time might be tough, remember to masking tape the area around headlight so you don't scratch bumper).
Now since I chickened out half way, I just think to myself that my car wouldn't be better with the "foglights". These are cornering lights where the light angle is to the far left and right, so you'll when you're driving you'll see a gap in the light field at 45 degrees from both sides.

You're right in that they do not light much up ahead of you, but I think most that have done it are more into the way it looks to others, rather than how much light it adds.
When I read the thread that described how to do it by just jumpering 2 wires under the steering column, I thought my prayers were answered:

As you can see, ToyLexmods indicates that if you jumper the A8 wire to the A10 and A11 wires in the turn signal/combo switch connector, your cornering lamps will come on with the headlights. Problem is, that is one tight harness under the steering column, and I don't know how to get to them.
