Hey guys I’m the proud owner of a 92 sc 300 with 90,000 miles, cold air induction. The purchase price was $4,500
I bought this vehicle cheap in queen’s ny. The car was wrecked and put back together, I did the vin check and it confirmed that this vehicle was totaled by the insurance company back in 2000…. I took a chance given the price. I had the frame and undercarriage checked out and all is ok, also changed the oil and tranny fluid and tuned it up… This car is running sweet, I popped it up to 110 without any shaking or shimmying…
I have about $1,000 to play with for now… What would you guys do next????
I’m sort of a show type of a guy rather then a go!!!
I’m sort of in between rims and/or lowering?
I don’t fully understand the lowering process? Can I just change the springs? What are coilovers and why would this be done in lieu of just changing the springs? What is the over all cost of lowering?
Thank in advance for all your input!!

Welcome. Your our #456987 new guy this week
I want to encourage you to use our search feature on questions, and use just one or two keywords for the best results. We have been around a loooooooooooooooong time and have answered every question twice.
If by some chance your questions aren't answered by then, post and we'll find it for you. Also note we have subforums on everything. engine questions go in forced induction, suspention in the suspention section, and brakes, wheels, and such have a seperate forum in the main index.
Everything has a place

Enjoy your stay and read, read, read, and you will learn more in 1 month than you will in 5 years just owning and driving.
I noticed you actually posted a month or so ago, but are now introducing yourself, i know you're slightly familiar with the forum.
Have fun.

welcome, and make sure to use the search button, check out the subforums, and go here: http://www.intellexual.net/faq.html
well, if you do just the springs now, you will have to replace your struts within a year, due to them not being able to handle the spring rate. coilovers are higher quality, but most importantly, adjustable (either height, or height and firmness)
you can also get the supra tt suspension
just make sure to check out the Suspension subforum
You have fun with that SC

Thats a 90K service right there. I just had this done to my SC and it runs so much better. Im positive I freed up some hidden horsepower in there. A night and day difference. Originally posted by tropical
