No, that is not true in New Jersey nor anywhere in the U.S. You can sue anyone if you can prove you are hurt, which is why it is important you see a doctor, because in some cases like others have said, you dont feel pain for a few weeks after, and unless you can prove actual damages in the form of medical bills, etc. you will not be able to recover any of that.....Based on your story, if he was acting like a real idiot as it sounds driving-wise, he could be held liable for quite a few things. Insurance companies...dont leave it to them, insurance companies and their lawyers care about one thing...the insurance companies, and not you. Get your own lawyer who is working for YOUR interests, and the insurance company if they have to join the suit with you, will have their own lawyers as well, working for their interests.
Well, the snow storm supprised me. On the way home i had lots of time to reflect on all the events that caused me to take the SC. It started with my girlfriend's friend backing up into the beater. Hahaha.
Wow. that looked like it was a horrible crash. I'm glad you're ok. I was just on route 24 less than a week ago (i had to take it almost everyday in the summer). it's a fairly straight road with no big dips or inclines, which probably means a lot of people take that opportunity to speed there. i'm definitely going to watch out more now b/c i used to think it was a relatively safe place to drive.
Originally posted by DIrEctQL OMG. On the way home I almost killed my SC3. I was caught in a snow storm and spun out on the highway hitting middle guard rail lightly. The bumper is a little scratched but everything else is fine. You can actually barly see it. I have to say I am so lucky.
I had a similar experience in my 1st Gen GS last winter, but instead of a 360, i did a 90 degree right, then left, then right, then a 180
Just like you said man, no control, just like sitting there playing a video game.
back on topic, I know the traffic and insurance laws in NJ are something out of this world, I hop huster is fairly compensated for his injuries and losses
ive never been in a wreck, however i have backed up into my dads car but no damage was done. when i see stuff like this, it makes me wana drive a lot slower.
glad you are okay, and good luck with getting a new car, and figuring out the situation with insurance.
