Helping my neighbor this morning get his car out of snow for about 30mins and noticed that my key was missing. I've been searching through the snow for about 3hrs looking for it but there's just so much of it. I'm really getting frustrated and hands are numb, this was my only key. How much is it going to cost me to get a new one guys and how long will it take? I have to be to work on Tuesday
Try Sewell Lexus, they are very responsive
Call 214-352-8100 and ask for Darrel Diller and tell him you are a club lexus member.
You will need to fax him a copy of your title.
Good luck!
75 for non-remote key at Bay ridge Lexus
260 for remote key...
Maybe Lexus of Manhattan can get you one for cheaper along with better service...Bay Ridge Lexus has bad service...Those 2 guys (Big white guy and Spanish guy) always have something to say...
Just got off the phone w/the dealer, $250 for a remote key and $9 for rush shipping. The best they can do is tomorrow morning around 10am, I'll have to call in for work. If I don't find my key when the snow melts (who knows when that will be) the cost to have the locks changed on the car is $1200! The computer module alone is $1600 in addition to the $250 for the key. Anybody do the math? That's over $3k! Best believe when the snow melts I will find my key man!! Word of advice peeps, don't lose your keys!!
Good point. I just ordered the non-remote master key. I'm upstate right now and the only dealer in the immediate area is New Country Lexus. They marked the non-remote master key all the way up to $110 despite a 5 minute argument, damn stealerships. I now see how prices can vary from dealer to dealer.
Gazi, any recommendations on an aftermarket alarm system? What are you using, if any?
I just went outside to take a look around, the sun is out and is starting to melt some of the snow away. Low and behold there is my key, in my next door neighbors driveway!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It's damaged from the plow but the remote entry still works. Thank God, the dilemma is over, LOL. I already ordered the other non-remote master key and the dealer is saying he can't cancel. At least I'll have a spare the next time this happens.
If you want another remote, i've seen a few on ebay lately that look like they're in good condition. Just make sure it has the same FCC ID as your old remote.
Here's an example of one http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...tem=2447507462
FWIW I picked up a key from the dealer for $65, I can't believe they charged you that much!
