Default Repairing low pressure line on ‘92 Sc300

Hey guys, I picked up my black SC300 back in september on a whim, and I’ve got to say its been a breath of fresh air after dealing with Fords. I’ve been working on getting it back to stage zero, catching up on the seriously neglected maintence of the car, (electrical connectors insulated by painters tape!)

Which brings me to my current hurdle, the nonfunctional A/C system. By the looks of it the previous owner mustve tried to attach a R-12 to R134a adapter to the low pressure fitting and has subsequently cracked it. I’ve searched high and low for a replacement line and I just cant find one. Is it possible to simply braze it with an aluminum rod to patch the crack? Does anyone have any experience in doing so?

I’ve attached a diagram of the specific line im working on (#21) more specifically the crack is right at the fitting #23.

Trying to stay cool in this incoming scorching summer!

Have to be a seriously skilled welder but it can be done. Can't stress this enough any welding has to be done with NO refrigerant anywhere near the welding process.
