Same steering rack?
Trying to figure out if the SC300/SC400 uses the same rack as the 93-98 Supra. So many other parts interchange, I figured there is a good chance this does too.
See attched photo. That's a Supra steering rack. Is the SC300/SC400 the same? The main thing to note, is the rack is held down by a bushing on the passenger side, and directly with two bolts (one facing back, one facing down) on the driver side. The distance between the mounting points is also 15".
If anyone is kind enough, just looking under the hood carefully will confirm/deny if the mounting is the same. If you have seen the SC300/SC400 rack off the car and can speak to what you saw, that's also helpful. Lastly, nothing is better than a picture of a SC300/SC400 rack if you have one.
The reason I ask is I need a spare rack, to disassemble, and determine if it can be reworked into a manual rack. I'd prefer to disect a old rack rather than risk killing mine and having the project not work out, and I can find SC300/SC400s at wrecking yards, where Supras are non-exisitant.

I just brought a rack and pinion, and cross member yesterday from a stolen theft recovery SC that was in a junk yard The picture you post looks exactly the same as mines. But you never know. I'll post a pic tomorrow.
