Why does the new RZ look
like it’s sucking an egg?

RZ looks fine to me.
Thank God the midlife refresh has improved range and charging speeds.

I don't see what you see.
Overall design works fine for me.

The front is a little plain but I think it looks ok. It is similar to other BEVs. I think it has a great profile though. Overall, I like it or I wouldn’t have purchased it. I’m sure that makes me a little biased.

I don’t see it. To the contrary, I like the front better than the shark look of the RX, and company.

Admit I’m a bit biased as an owner of a 450e of about 2 weeks.

I am considering the RZ to eventually replace my RX. But my primary concern is having someone bump me during parallel parking. Even slight damage to that flat front surface will be very apparent.

Do you think the improved range and charging speed will affect the longevity of the battery and drivetrain components?

I appreciated their claim of 90% battery capacity after 10 years with the original RZ. I’m thinking about finally adding an EV to my fleet and since I keep my cars a long time that is what is most important to me and why I was interested in the RZ.

Keep in mind, you can also set charging limit on the RZ, at least you can on the 2026. So while I'm driving locally, I just leave it set at 80%. If I plan to drive a long distance, it’s easy to change it to 100%. I also don’t have much need for DC fast charging as this isn’t the car I plan to drive on road trips - so I don’t “plan” to use a fast charger much if at all. My point is that I believe these two practices will result in the best long term health for the battery and don’t take any real effort on my part. Unfortunately, every battery is different and everyone will have a different opinion - this merely illustrates my thinking in terms of long term battery health.

TMC is a bit slow to the party with EV technology, hence limited range and limited charging speeds.
However, the midlife refresh of bZ and RZ has said to bring much needed improvements to range and charging speeds.
Also keep in mind that TMC is very conservative and tends not to drive their batteries too hard to enhance longevity - therefore we end up with deliberately limited charging speeds, deliberately limited discharging from 0-60 mph and deliberately limited range.
I'd be much happier to own the midlife refresh than the original bZ and RZ from 3 years ago.
The RZ is incredibly smooth and incredibly quiet to drive.

Honestly amazed at how refined it is. Cabin is quiet and it’s a pleasure to drive. Feels roomy too. Feels bigger inside than it looks like it would be (from the outside).Still in honeymoon stage obviously, but expecting to keep it quite a few years.

Couldn’t be happier…..

2- years and 18K miles in, my front looks as good as new.
I did pickup two stone chips on the edge of the hood, but not the giant plastic front nose/bumper. The paint must be more flexible and resilient on the plastic surfaces than the metal ones.

Very true.
RZ is quieter and more refined to drive than our Tesla Model 3. Though slower.

We have only owned ours since December, so probably still in the honeymoon phase as well, but I completely agree. It is very smooth and quiet. It also has plenty of power. Our NX has about the same combined horsepower, but the RZ feels like it has much more power. I also like that the RZ is full-time all wheel drive. So far we are loving ours too!
