Question Side mirror courtesy lamp...

Does anyone know how to take off the bulb??? I've replaced all the interior bulbs to LEDs. I want to replace the side mirror lamp to LEDs and I'm unable to remove the covers on the side mirror lamp.

Seriously, all interior bulbs to LED?

Details? What bulbs specifically? What product did you replace them with?

Yes, please post details about changing the interior bulbs to LEDs. Where did you get them and what sizes do you need?

Good find Btmnk21!

www.superbrightleds.com or http://www.dealextreme.com/products.dx/category.712

I changed the dome lights (2) 194 front & (1) 194 rear. (2) 194 foot light, and (4) 194 on each door. (3) festoon type led on the rear cargo area. I have yet to change the vanity mirror bulb. I also changed the amber parking light to (2) 194 leds.

I would recommend this for the rear dome light:

This is the 194/168 I used for the parking light, the front dome light & foot light:

This is the 194/168 I used for all 4 doors:

This is what I used for the cargo light:

BTW: I used all pure white color on all of them.

I will post my pics soon. Stay tuned...

Wow, sweet! Didn't even think of doing this, but I just might now.

Any concern for melting in the dome lights? Maybe not the prism (which is most likely PC) but if there is any ABS behind it...LEDs run very hot.

Those surface mount LED actually runs cooler than a regular bulb, but I do not like the glare on them when they are in the dome light.

LEDs do run cooler. they are more energy efficient because less energy is converted into heat and more is converted into light.

The G Man and RXSF are correct! LEDs run cooler than regular bulbs. You have more chance of melting dome light covers with the regular bulb than the LEDs.

The G Man: In this case, don't let the picture do the talking. Totally different when you see LEDs on the dome light. I see a lot better specially when fastening my daughter in the car seat at night.

I'm still looking for the answer as to how to open the side mirror light cover. Anyone?

I had those LED panels on my dome light b4, yes they are brighter, but they are not gentle on the eyes like the yellow light. Kind of like the difference between looking at on coming cars with HID headlight and holagen lights.
Not sure about the new RX's puddle lights, but on the GS, no one can figure out how to get to the bulb, and quite a few people have tried. Some have manage to take out the lense but could not put it back tight. Maybe it was meant to be access from the inside only or the lense was meant to be replace everytime the bulb burns out.
