Hello guys,
I just noticed that the light on the passenger door still is out (I'm referring to scuff plate on the floor that lights up "LEXUS" when the door is open).
I didnt know the RX has Illuminated door sills, I knew the GS has it, but its a LED not a bulb.
I believe the RX330 was the first Lexus in 2003 as a 2004 model to have the illuminated door sill plates. Anyway, I think they are LED and not a user changeable. Have to but the entire plate or crack it open and fix it yourself.

That's not accurate. My '02 SC430, purchased in April of '01, has the same illuminated door sill plates as my '04 RX 330. I do not recall seeing them on any Lexus cars earlier than the '02 SC.
I do not know whether the illumination is by bulb or LED, but my guess, due to the space and heat issues, is that it is an LED system.
i tried to open it once but it seal up pretty good. might not be able to replace the bulb or led, might need to replace the whole thing if it stop working

How did you remove them? I tried to pry them from the very ends and the thin sheet metal starting to bubble upwards from the screwdriver. I didn't want to damage them anymore so I stopped. Do you pry on the long side near the ends?
Do you know if the Lexus nameplate has the color, or is the bulb blue or white? My 07 RX350 has an off-white color and I wanted to determine if I have to purchase a blue Lexus scuff plate or if I can change the bulb to a blue LED. Do you know if the bulb can be changed?
I'm pretty sure they used an electroluminescent material for them, not a bulb or LED. The color is too even over a large area to be source lit. If it's not a simple wiring issue, you'll probably have to replace the entire sill plate.

Not really,
It could be LEDS shined across a horizontal clear plastic surface. That would allow for even light distribution. That is how backlit keyboards are made.
