Default AT Temperature light on

Hello!
I own a 99 Rx300 with around 211,000 miles on it.
I had two long trips (greater than 3 hours) where my A/T temp light came on. If i pulled over for 5 minutes or went below 60 mph the light disappeared. Does anyone know what is happening?
I am about to take it to pep boys. It has been running fine since then

Couple Side notes:
- Mechanic told me to use regular conventional with lucas oil stabilizer with my high mileage car. I feel like this has something to do with it since I first saw this light appear after I used Lucas oil stabilizer

- Car has been giving a burning smell for quite some time but I attribute that to the oil being burned off.

-Catylitic and O2 sensor light is on but i Dont think that has anything to do with the current problem

- Car struggles with changing gears especially from RPM 2- 3
Also does a kick back sometimes when I go into reverse. Please let me know! Thanks!

AT light is automatic transmission temperature!

Check the level & condition of the transmission fluid NOW. When was the last time it was changed? Would highly suggest several drain & fills.

Well Lex, at least he know`s his temp light works! : P But as far as the symptoms, I would start where the others have mentioned^^. And the codes might be affecting the transmission performance.

I would check the the tranny fluid immediately upon getting home if I got one of those.

the guys said sometime the computer will trip the light to come on especially if I have unmatching tires (which I do). I dont know how legit that is but it sounded pretty good lol. Ill be taking it to a transmission shop soon. TY everyone

Well, how hard is it to check the condition of the fluid? I have a feeling we'll be seeing a new thread asking for recommendation for a good place to rebuild transmissions.
