I've searched the forum and google for posts regarding the at oil temp light. My rx starts revs to about 2,000 rpms then dies with this light on. The truck died while driving with this light coming on...
Is the rx now dead?

Cheers

It should still run even if the tranny is overheated, so it won't start now?

Give it few hours and let things cool off.

Check level and condition of fluid.

Start and see if the light has gone off. If not, the sensor could be bad.

If the light comes on soon after driving, have things checked out. It could be the insides of the Torque convertor (lock) has gone bad or problem with recirc.

Went back today but forgot the damn code reader. Truck started up revved high, I got it into gear and drove in a small circle around the parking lot before it died again...at temp oil light on dash as well as cel...

It seems to be some sort of electrical, or sensor issue as the truck did engage transmission and engine moved it around the small lot, maybe 10m total.
