I am almost sure there is a fuse for the fan .. I dont know which one .. so check them all.

My hunch is that the fan runs all the time when the RX is running [runs at low speed .. typical of all vehicles]. You may like to play with the cabin filter. I just wish I had the electrical diagram to tell if there is an interlock with the filter or which fuse the fan motor is connected to.

The other location for a most of the fuses is behind the coin holder . you need to take it out.

The engine bay fuses are the main fuses, when they pop, you loose a lot of electrical functions (typically).

Lexmex is here and helpful as always. I will try to add his helpful picture post. Look for #5

Have not seen you post for a while. How is the modding going on?

Any chance that it is the air damper as opposed to the blower fan. The "air servos" are notorious as they age. Also check the air filter if the flow is the problem.

If the above few leads do not pan out, it may be time to take the RX to a mechanic. For a thing like this, it might be better to pay higher hourly rate to get to the bottom of the problem quicker.

I had a problem like this. My Fan would run intermittently and then it stopped all together. The fan is a single speed fan controlled by a ‘Blower Control Module’ (part # 87165-22050 this superseded the original part #) (kind of like a dimmer switch) that regulates fan speed. It is located on the fire wall behind the glove box. While waiting for the part I direct wired the fan to an A/C plug and would plug it into the cigarette lighter when I needed air (It was summer when mine went). This also was my test that the fan was still working.

^ Great idea, to confirm if it is the fan or the air flow?

I have a 99RX - my problem is the fan runs in 'high speed' all the time when the A/C or heat is turned on. The **** adjusts the fan speed 'bars' indicator correctly, but the fan only runs in high speed. Any ideas on what the problem might be? Blower control relay maybe?

Any suggestions appreciated.

Thanks,
Roger

There is a posting up on the Lexus Owners Club site, under RX300, that offers "Rx300 Wiring Diagams Here, I have complete wiring diagram for 99 rx". I haven't tried it though.
