When you say your previous car had (non-powered) running boards, do you mean that the new Lexus running boards are powered? That could be a game changer for me.

Edison_Chen, thanks for the pictures. The running boards do not look like Lexus boards. Where do do you get them and who installed them for you. I need the boards for my wife who has a bad hip.

I asked the Canadian Lexus dealer to order and install them before we picked up the car back in May. I知 99.9% sure they are OEM Lexus. I think there isn稚 any aftermarket running boards available yet for this new RX model. I also took screen prints of the picture from Lexus Canada and Lexus USA and they look a like.
I asked the dealer to install them after the vehicle arrived at the dealership before I picked up the car before end of May. I told the sales rep on a Friday and it was ready for pick up the following Wednesday.
We find it very useful as our family is on the shorter side. I had the OEM running boards on my previous 4Runner (non-powered) and they worked well too.
I think you need to have the RX pre-drilled from the factory.
Nit sure if the dealer can drill holes.

Running boards are a port installed option so it can be done by a dealer or even as a DIY. Either holes will need to be drilled or there are weather caps over the predrilled holes. There are videos online of gen 4 RX installs but no gen 5s yet that I can find.

I got them on, took me around an hr and a half, straight forward, I didn't need to jack the car up. My car already have pre drilled holes, need to cut undercover liner, fold in and screw the boards in, torque spec is 22.1 ft-lbs. The installation instructions and screws came with the package.
