My feeling is that you are overthinking this...just try it first. I do agree that a split screen would be nice. I like the Android Auto split screen on the 14 inch a lot.

So maybe that symbol goes off only when there aren't any other cars or items in the field of view of the car? That's what I was thinking while driving it, have to find a stretch of road where I can drive with no one around me - which is actually pretty hard to do around here.

I also find it interesting that the car can detect a STOP sign, it can read a speed limit sign - but it can't detect a traffic light.

This cruise control is pretty smart actually. On the BMW, your lane was moving at let's say 65 MPH, if the lane next to you was only moving at let's say 45 MPH, the cruise would keep the pace for your lane no matter what the adjacent lane(s) were doing. But I notice on this car, it actually slows just a bit when it finds a large speed disparity to an adjacent lane, which is something a human driver would do as a cover to someone pulling out of the slow lane in front of you. Someone must have specifically coded that behavior into it. Watch for that combination the next time you drive it and come upon that scenario.
