Side door or Pillar rattle or static noise
Hi Has anyone have the same issue where every time you drive, there is always this constant static sound on the left side. I cant pick it out if it was from the B pillar or the door, it happens 85-90% of my driving. I had to listen to music to tune it out otherwise if I want a nice ride or quiet, it will be there, highly annoying, it almost sounds like a very thin metal piece is constantly making contact or tapping. it also highly correlates with bumps on the road. Meaning, the sound is more faint but increases over bumps. Yet there can be stretches of driving that it can be quiet for a session. Its not loud and you can definitely tell it is there. Not squeaking or your typical plastic rattle. I already took this to the dealer a few months back, they say they confirmed the noise and added some tape or adhesive, but it didnt fix the problem. Recently they say they will replace the side panel door under warranty which they say cost 3k, yet the problem remains. This is like my 10th vehicle and also the most expensive car I ever owned and never in my precious vehicle have this issue. Highly annoying.

Ours has a tapping that sounded a bit like a typewriter.
I could reach behind me and lift up on the ceiling cross-brace and it would stop. The fix was loosening all of the panoramic sunroof fasteners and retorquing them. It was covered under warranty.
30k later, there is still no rattling.

In my car, one issue is with the seat belt anchor at the very bottom near the floor on the door side, where the belt is attached to the joint. It rattles so much that I had to wrap it in foam padding, especially since the dealership just told me, “That’s normal for a 120`000 Dollar car (Swiss-Price) ” 🙂
And…
The entire door panel rattles whenever the music volume exceeds Volume-level 28. However, this is a plastic vibration rattle, not a metallic one. That is a separate issue, though.
