Infotainment not retaining user profile, reinitializes communication module
It's difficult to search this topic due to the different ways to describe it but I thought I would post here in case anyone else experiences this or has experienced it and fixed it. We are currently working with Lexus Service to get this resolved but it has not been resolved yet.
We've had our 2024 RX350h for just over 2 years and it worked fine until recently. What is happening is that if you come back to the car after having it off for some period of time (sometimes just a half hour or overnight) the user profile is missing and it reinitializes the infotainment as if you are setting it up for the first time. It does not seem to be retaining the user profile. If you just start driving around, after a random period of time being just a few minutes to never, the system will announce "Lexus Communication Module Activated" and then it seems to work correctly. Until that happens there is no nav functionality. To be honest I don't know the intricacies here as it is my wife's car, but that is the gist of it and FWIW, she has it paired with an Apple phone.
The dealer just had the car for a week. They were able to witness and reproduce the problem. They have tried all of the obvious stuff of deleting accounts, resetting the unit, resetting the apps, etc. as well as a DCM firmware update. They gave it back to us and it failed again today.
I suspect the next step will be to replace the infotainment unit or module (DCM?), I will post an update as to what Lexus does next. Just thought I would post this here in case someone else runs into this issue or has solved it already.
