Should I be concerned?
I got my eyes on a used 2023 RX 500h F-Sport Performance with 23800 miles. Looking at the Carfax report, I see that the transmission and torque converter were already replaced at 4k miles. Should I be concerned? I know that the quality of Lexus has declined from previous years, but I am hoping to get a sense of owners here about your overall experience.
Please please post where you have read Lexus quality has gone downhill. They are #1 in dependability for four years in a row including 2026 and 26 out of the last 30 years. They are also # 1 in initial quality.
Not that unusual for early RX500h models to need transmission replacement. We have a whole big thread on it you can peruse: https://www.clublexus.com/forums/hyb...ion-issue.html

I am calling out someone with their first post that makes an absurd statement and can not back it up. Here is an idea block me. Will do the same to you. Great feature. And you knew Lexus was #1 again by J D Power just released this week for 2026.

I am on my 4th (and last) RX. I have noticed this downward trend in quality and amenities, with each succeeding model. My 23 RX Luxury is a fairly good, but not great, vehicle. I just replaced all 4 tires at 34K miles. They put Goodyear Touring tires (allegedly with 45K warranty). Most tire stores won't even give any warranty on this tire. The 21-inch tire is very expensive (over $300 per tire). My first two RXes had nice, smooth riding, long lasting, Michelins.

I have never seen petulance like this, except it seems to run rampant on Toyota and Lexus discussion forums...a place where people show up to a discussion forum simply for the pleasure of blocking other people? Especially other people who actually brought relevant data to the table, ie. since you are worried about rx500h transmission failures, here is a thread where we have discussed this very issue. Instead we praise people who bootlick and toe the company line...all heil Lexus, they are the best, other opinions must be eliminated, all reported failures must be false...I guess?
There were many 500h transmissions in that year bad from purchase as you can see in the thread on their failures. Or do you think all those folks thrashed theirs as well?
I think many people that purchase “Sport” labeled SUVs drive them aggressively. I live in Southern California and every BMW M-series X5 driver seems to think they are in the Indy 500 on the freeway. Same for F-Sport RXs.
Consumer Reports didn't give the RX very good ratings. I trust them more than JD Power. Plus, owners, who come to this forum also report a lot of problems and dissatisfaction with their RX.
