Default Recall notice on vehicles with the Panoramic View Monitor (PVM) system

A major recall announced on November 5, 2025 (originating from an October 30, 2025 NHTSA report) for over 1 million Toyota and Lexus vehicles, including models with the Panoramic View Monitor (PVM) system, is about a potential rearview camera defect. Recall Details
  • Issue: A software error in the PVM system can cause the rearview camera image to freeze or display a blank screen when the vehicle is in reverse. This reduces the driver's visibility and increases the risk of a crash, violating federal safety requirements.
  • Affected Vehicles: The recall impacts certain 2022-2026 model year Toyota, Lexus, and Subaru vehicles equipped with the PVM system. Affected Lexus models include the RX, TX, LS, GX, NX, and LX.
  • Remedy: Dealers will perform a software update on the parking assist electronic control unit (ECU) at no cost to owners.
  • Owner Notification: Owners are expected to receive a notification letter by mail in December 2025.
While the "Panoramic View Monitor" system is mentioned, the issue relates to the camera system function, not the physical panoramic roof itself.
For information on whether a specific vehicle is affected, owners can visit the Lexus recall website (Lexus.com/recall) or the NHTSA website (nhtsa.gov/recalls) and enter their Vehicle Identification Number (VIN)

Panoramic roof and panoramic view camera are two different things.

Default Recall due to Back-up camera glitch

So my RX350h Luxury is also equipped with a digital rear view mirror AND the standard Lexus Cross Traffic / Back Up Braking system.

The one dislike I have of my car is that the back up safety system is so sensitive that it occasionally slams on the brakes, when reversing, when not needed. For example in a grocery store parking lot, while backing, and a person, across the way and behind me, exits their car but is still between the car next to them, the system still sees that as a danger and slams on the brake.

I believe that system is independent of the back-up camera system, so as long as you are backing at a reasonably slow rate there should be NO PROBLEM if the camera view glitches?????

Never have been a fan of the Panoramic View Monitor system. It takes way too long to do its fly around before it displays the full panoramic view. Then you can't manipulate much either.

The rear view digital camera is the issue. Not the Panoramic View surround monitor.

I have absolutely zero delay when I push the pano view button when I pull into or out of a parking spot, garage, etc.

Read the recall again. It’s for PVM and they all have a delay as it does the vehicle fly around first.

You're both right. It's for the rear camera, but only on models with PVM.

I brought our RX450h in for the 35k service today and the system did not flag the recall or service campaign for the rear motor connector. I had to show the service advisor my app, that showed both so he then added them on.

Something with the Panoramic View Monitor System’s Parking Assist ECU bugging out the rear camera display.

whatever you do - do not add a bike rack on the hitch. Fina;y gave up and only put the rack on when I need to. Almost impossible to get out of driveway without alarms when only the rack was installed. Adding a bike increased the automatic break slam on's. Whomever designed this at Lexus should just quit. There's a difference between alerts and false positives

I have no notifications in the app on any recall for my MY22 RX450h but I do have one for our MY25 RX350

Mine has no "fly around" so no delay.
