Read what automatic high beam assist is in post one, you’re confusing it with adaptive headlights. They are different.

The point I was trying to make is that the terminology is not consistent across different makes. The only thing that’s clear is that “adaptive” means it’s NOT sealed beam.

The 1948 Tucker had an adaptive sealed beam headlight. I agree that all the automakers using different names for systems that operate basically the same is annoying.

Something is going on, apparently. Saw an article that Tesla has released a software update to enable the adaptive lights function in the US, for 2021 or newer cars that have the hardware.

To my knowledge, the true Matrix headlight technology - where individual LED's are turned on or off to basically allow constant high beam use without blinding cars in front or coming towards you - that technology had a US standard approved a couple years ago. BUT no manufacturer had a design that passed the US standard. Perhaps Tesla is the first? It is hard to tell as the language manufacturers use is inconsistent and often not descriptive. I do know Canada has approved the true Matrix tech, and that some Canadian Lexus's already have it. Same with other parts of the world.

Unfortunately the US set a different standard than the rest of the world for anti-glare measures so other approved systems do not pass the US test.

What do you mean re settings mentioned? UD ? Do you have the AHS headlight on your vehicle? We have the RX 350h 2024 and have the AHS,. It is a Canadian model. When the vehicle has the low beam, do you still see the blue light?
