The logic/algorithm/DC-DC Converter subsystem is only relevant for the 450H+, 350H & 500H hybrid powertrains across all NX & RX's (and Rav4's, Camry's, etc) is my understanding.

I would think think at this point that this is a one-off unlucky and rare case for the 350 (non-hybrid) powertrain.
Completely agree.

IMHO batteries are a crap shoot. You get a good one or you don't.

I had a Ford Focus RS. It had an alternator, but it did not always charge the battery. It had a reduced state of charge, by design, just like our RX450h+. I make no assumptions any more...

I believe BLUKTY2 and his RX 350 turbo are both in Alaska, which we know is much colder than the rest of the country. This may explain why the standard Lexus RX battery (3 year old?) with low CCA power is not up to the snuff to start the turbo even though it uses the traditional alternator for recharging the battery. If the turbo is parked outside, as opposed to a much warmer indoor garage, this may aggravate the situation further. Just my humble opinion!

Spot on. I had no idea that the original battery had such low CCA's (603!) until I initially put the charger on it.

I don't regret my decision to replace it with a much more capable battery.

Ya I considered this but I'm short on time between a surprise death and the holidays. Although I can afford it, I'm also old school in trying not to replace stuff that's still working, especially if I'm prepared (have a big jump pack, know how to get in, etc). If I have time, I'll go grab a NeverStart AGM

They are replacing something which works, with something that does not work as well, but generates a stream of income for them. And this they call progress? Certainly not for the customer!

This may not be your jump starter brand or issue, but perhaps your jump starter also has a safety feature not allowing low voltate (flat) battery boost? Just a thought and a heads up for any NOCO users.
Our 6 year old booster pack does not have the low voltage 'boost' feature....

Since our battery had sufficient voltage to open & close the hatch initially, I would not have thought of that anyway.

I looked in the owner's manual for the booster, to make sure.

Hmmm

I'd better send a note to Santa.

6 years is a long time for a lipo battery that sees temperature extremes.

Default Class action lawsuit

2024 RX350h owner, purchased new.

Battery has died and been replaced under warranty after the first 10 months and again 10 months later.

So far Lexus has been great and replaced the battery with no hassle. My concern is once the warranty runs out, this is going to be a frustrating (and expensive) issue.

I wrote Lexus corporate and their response is that while the dealer has replaced the battery two times, there is no current problem that can be replicated and the warranty will cover it. At Lexus's suggestion, I submitted to arbitration, but after presenting the issue, my case was rejected.

Has anyone considered or joined a class action lawsuit regarding this issue?

Nothing to arbitrate or sue over while the warranty is in effect. Your post is a year or two year too early.

Exactly. No damages here, they fixed the issue under warranty. People also don't understand how complex these cases are or the huge up-front expense involved. A law firm would have to see a big payout for them down the road to front the cost themselves.

Every single NX and RX Hybrid ever sold in all of US would theoretically comprise the Class, at the very least - if excluding all Toyota-branded 4th Gen Hybrid systems.

It'd also seem that its better to NOT buy/have extended warranty for belonging to the Class, so as to get any Action out of Lexus

Default Me Too!

I have experienced the same 12 volt battery issue in my ‘24 RX450h+. It first happened last May. Dead as a doornail without cause. (Normal operation when pulled in the garage two days earlier. Nothing left on, doors locked). After a jump start, I took it to a dealer who “tested” the battery and found no capacity issues. Fast forward to mid December… after unlocking the car, opening the rear and loading Christmas presents for a party we were about to attend, closed the hatch. My wife had gotten into the car and the I entered. As soon as it stepped on the brake to start I got an error message about no parking brake and then pfft! Nothing…then briefly flashing lights and then total black! Totally dead. After another jump start and dealer visit, they replaced the 12 volt battery. I have not had any issues since. The whole situation calls into question the charging circuit for the 12 volt system. My wife and I are both retired and bought the plug in hybrid since much of our driving is local and done on 100% electric. I assume there is a 12 volt charging system to maintain the battery on EV driving but maybe I’m wrong!! I hope the Lexus engineers did a better job than relying solely on hybrid mode to charge the 12 volt system! Does anyone know how the 12 volt system is supposed to charge on these models?
