has it worked for u that is not a bad idea tbh - im just assuming because i know it's mostly teenagers stealing these cars those douchebags prob dont even know or care and will still try. i know in the UK Lexus are adding metal plates in the left wheel liner so they won't be able to access the wiring for the 2017 - 2022 models.

check out this video below - they completely obliterated the left side just to steal the 500h in the GTA and failed because of the encrypted can bus lines. i noticed that their new tactic is breaking the rear driver side window as no alarm will sound (idk why but that's the case but whatever) - then they enter the car and create a new key via OBD port. Glad to know IGLA blocks all forms of theft. idk why people say "oh well they can still tow it" - what use to them is a car that is undriveable sure they can tow it but im pretty sure they would abandon it cuz it's no use to them? ik in the UK they steal cars for parts and strip the hell out of cars to the bare metal glad to know that hasn't trickled down here yet!

wow. i park in the garage so lets hope i get to enjoy it for a long time. I am not in the GTA but my nbrs NX was stolen in 2021 from their driveway. it really dampens the mood of owning a new car.

I suspect they go through the rear windows because that glass is not laminated like the front door windows. Cutting through laminated glass is very time consuming.

Thing are worse in Toronto than people know. Home invasions to steal your car keys. This happened to a close friend.

Two weeks ago, my salesmen told me a story about his friends Mercedes carjacking attempt. He was approached by 3 armed men at a red light, He was lucky to see them before they reached the car and got away.

It’s the wild west for car thieves. They get 5G’s for stealing your car, and are getting bolder by the day. I also keep my car in the garage, I’ve evaluated my options since my RX had been stolen twice. I hate to say this, but the safest solution for my family is “take it and go”.

they go through the rear passenger window by breaking the glass as they have found out that it does not sound the alarm of the vehicle - my friend that works here has confirmed this... so the RX has encrypted CAN BUS lines but it does not stop thieves from still stealing them the old fashioned ways. this is why something like IGLA is needed - all forms of theft are prevented even if they break your glass and gain access to the OBD port or steal your keys. A cool feature I saw online for IGLA also is called "anti-high jack mode" where if your car door is opened for more than 3 seconds while driving/parked it will assume your car has been jacked then the system will warn you to enter your pin code in a few times - if you don't the car will stop driving and slowly come to a stop. cant stop praising this IGLA device man!
