Default Memory Seat Occasionally Not Working

Hey all! I’m a first time Lexus owner and so far I love the vehicle. It’s a 2023 RX 350h Luxury with Nebula grey paint and the peppercorn interior. I’ve had the vehicle almost a year. The only issue I have experienced so far is occasionally the drivers seat not responding upon start up. The dealer states that they can’t find the issue. It probably has happened 10 times in the year so no big thing however I was wondering if anyone else has experienced this?

Yes, mine does this every once in awhile. No rhyme or reason as to when it does, as far as I can tell.

Could be because the car is recognizing the wrong user? That is ONE reason why we insisted on turning-n the settings based on FOB in the car.

I have my seat settings, she has hers. But before, the car would 'detect' her cell phone and I'd need to push the button. (I know, FIRST WORLD PROBLEM, LOL)

Well the steering wheel always comes down however the seat occasionally doesn’t move. My wife does not have a setting as of yet since we just received our second key fob.

We have problems with our seat remembering what setting was to what person. I found this on the internet and it worked for us. It sounds bizarre but try it. Slide your seat all the way forward then all the way back then take the back of the seat and move it all the way forward and down and back. Then reset your seats to setting one and setting two and it worked for us good luck.

This sounds like a good idea; I may try it. When we took delivery of our RX in early August of 23, the drivers seat was not initialized, and this was the procedure that I used to complete the initialization (the dealer missed this step). It is possible that this serves as a reset function so any set seat/steering wheel memories are deleted and one can start over again.

For me, I do not have any additional drivers registered, so this rules out the theory of system detecting the "wrong" person.

Default Seat Problems - Easy Exit

We got a new 24 RX and seem to have a problem with the Seat.

Sometimes when my wife goes into the car, the Seat doesn't move back to the stored position -- it basically stays in the Easy Exit position where it is pulled all the way back.

We only have 1 profile stored in the car and only have 1 key which is linked to her profile. Doesn't seem to be any consistency to it -- sometimes it goes to the right position, sometimes it stays in the Easy Exit spot until you hit 1 on the seat memory.

Any thoughts?

Sounds bizarre but give it a try. Slide seat all the way forward then all the way back then finally tilt back seat all the way forward. This resets everything. Then position the seat the way you want with the side mirrors too and then hit set and position one.

I took my 2024 RX450h+ in for service this week because the driver's seat memory stopped working. The steering wheel would move when we selected the program button, (1,2 or 3), but not the seat. The dealer performed the same procedure you described to get it working again.
