The audio controls on my steering wheel will not change my favorite Sirius Xm radio stations when using Apple Car Play with Apple Nav. I don’t know if this is by design or if I have a problem. The controls work fine using the Lexus Nav. and Sirius radio, but if I switch to Apple maps and then select Sirius radio they do not work. I was using Car play so I could get the split screen and show what’s on the radio. The same is occurring using Waze. Amy suggestions?
Yes, it’s the only way to get the split screen on the Nav screen.
The wheel controls can’t control CarPlay. I believe the upcoming new CarPlay implementation will allow auto makers to do that. That means Lexus may do it in 2028. Lol

‘What about that update we will never see that fixes everything?
Sounds encouraging but I’m a little concerned of the new version of car play crashing while controlling the radio, climate controls, fuel level, temperature and other things. I have only been on several trips with the current Apple car play and the Nav. screens have frozen several times. One time the screen remained frozen until I stopped at a rest area and shut off the engine and restarted the car. Then the Nav. worked. Also on several occasions my car play failed to load. Don’t know why. The old Nav. In my 2019 never did these things. Plus it showed the next 3 exits on the freeway, announced traffic conditions, etc. I also don’t like how the current car play, drains the battery on my iPhone. On a 300 mile trip my phones battery went from 100% down to 10% in less than 5 hours.

The steering wheel controls work for Sirius XM, they just seek forward or backward in time, not through your favorites/channels. They could make it a configurable option in the app, but given their track record with issues like the Favorites bug I wouldn't hold my breath. Maybe if enough people requested it (via Settings -> Feedback) they might consider?
