The above works for the close only button. I found if your using the button to close and lock, you need push the button while being underneath the open hatch almost like your reaching in for something in the storage area, then move out away from the car. You will hear beeps and the hatch should close and the doors will lock.

However, in my case, the following does not work: the trunk button on the left front near the driver's seat, the remote control button for the trunk, the lock and close button, the close button → always followed by a long beep. Two weeks ago, I had the error code: B222A13-

Sounds like a defect the dealer is going to have to fix.

SOLVED: error code: B222A13- "The tailgate sometimes doesn't close. It just emits a beeping sound for 5 seconds."

The plug for the left anti-pinch (The long rubber tube/sensor on the side of the tailgate) sensor in the trunk lid was obviously not properly connected.
Most likely, this was caused by the repair shop during the last intervention.

→ It seems Lexus is not at fault here, once again ←

If you have to perform like a trained seal to get the rear door to lock, then it's a stupid design. Do better, Lexus.

It's definitely a finicky function that works for me MOST of the time but not always.
