Default Rear Hatch Opening Height Adjustment?

Just took delivery of a 2023 RX 350 Luxury AWD on Monday the 24th and quickly realized of all the things I checked for fitting into our garage, forgot how high the rear hatch is when fully open. I can close the garage door and no problems, but if the garage door is open, then the rear hatch will hit the garage door. I can stop the rear hatch from opening by hand, but not sure that is good for the door mechanism. Does anyone know if there is a way to limit the opening height or do I just reside myself to just remember to unload outside or make sure the garage door is down if in the garage?

I had the same thing happen in my garage.

Go to settings, vehicle customize, door control, and under the back door area is an opening position number. Mine was set to 5 automatically but changing it to 4 worked for my garage.

I hope this helps!

This method probably works on the gen 5s as well. Someone will have to double check since we're still waiting on ours to arrive.

Not sure why the forum isn't showing videos correctly right now. Look on Youtube for Adjust your Lexus Liftgate. They set the height using the hatch buttons.

This topic is covered on pages 124 -125 of the RX full manual.

There is an entire chapter devoted to how the power back door locks/unlocks/operates beginning on page 112. It is worth reading.

Just manually stop it a bit lower than you want. Then press and hold the close button till it beeps a few times. Raise the door to the height you want. Hold the button again till the beeps. Then you’re done.

When I first got my 2023, I changed the setting to 4. That certainly will work for many people but not for me. I am 6'-2" tall and the 4 setting causes me to bang my head on the hatch door. I had the same problem with my 2016, 2014 and 2007 350s. I taped a foam pad to that part of the garage door, where the datch door was hitting. It isn't the perfect solution but it works for me. I need a "4.5" setting. :-)

You don’t have to use the built in adjustments. You can custom set it to your own height preference manually with the door close button like I said above.

I tried that, using both the key fob button and the dash button...neither worked for me. Neither produced a "multiple beep," as if it was storing anything. They just operated the hatch door, like normal

Now go try it with the button on the hatch.

Yep, like Urlik said you gotta use the button on the hatch door. It’s easiest if you stop the door from closing a little lower than you want it. Just give a little pressure it will stop the door operation. Then press and hold the button and raise it to the height you want. Then press and hold again

I tried the button on the Hatch first and same results. I didn't mention that in my original response because I saw no need, since I followed the video. My foam pad works for me. I have better things to worry about than a hatch door.

Default Set Open Trunk Height?

Apologies if there is already a thread/answer for this, I haven't been able to find it.
Talking about a 2024 RX 350h, is there a way to set/change the open trunk height?
I found instructions on how to do that for some older model years, but those instructions do not seem to apply to the 2024 model.
Kindly enlgihten me if someone knows the answer, or can confirm that the set open trunk height function has been deprecated for the 2024 model.
Thanks in advance.
