I haven’t even seen Lexus hint at 2024 RX’s being in production.

They’ll probably be in October/November time frame. The NX did an early switch to the 2024 model year. Lexus announced it in March and they hit the dealerships a couple weeks ago.

the RX450H plugin 2023 was supposed to be available soon too right?

if things get delayed, would people have their 2023 orders just move to being the first in line for the 2024 orders?

sigh, i know this is the new normal now, but i remember when I bought my last/current car (BMW x3 2010), i was able to order it to my specifications and they built it in about 2 months...

The BMW system is the best in the industry - and I have toured the Vehicle Distribution Center in NJ, and see how they allocate uncommitted cars to dealers - great system, dealers login and select what they want from what is available, linked right to the car carrier trucks making the pickup at the port. Lexus/Toyota has nothing like that.

As each day passes with no delivery of the vehicle we ordered with a $1000 deposit, it will be interesting to see if the 24s are out in the wild before the 23 we want shows up. Of course, the current crop of 23s has increased in price up here (MSRP) and I expect the 24s to be higher. I doubt the dealer will give a damn since they can sell every one they get at a higher price.

i didn't know that was only a BMW thing. i only vaguely buying my old civic back in 2000 and thought i had the same ability to pick. i was surprised i couldn't do the same for Lexus. that's really surprising to me considering i thought Toyota was the pioneer in Just In Time Production too.

Ever since the pandemic Toyota has had issues with their supply chain. Things are slowly getting back to a new state of normal for them. Will probably be a few more months before RX's become readily available, unless Lexus is again stretched thin as they try to bring the TX out.

‘Is there a particular option you are wanting causing you to not get your vehicle or is it your location? Is the matador red a must have?

In Canada, there are only four packages available. The "base" (actually not the real base, but base plus), Luxury, Ultra, and Executive. No smorgasbord of option choices. We ordered Premium, and the next step up which adds a bunch of things of no use to me is $7200! We ordered Eminent WHite, which if the rumours were true a while back, was a problem. And yet they seem to be on the allocation sheets. Dealer has no friggin' clue when it might be made. We thought there might be a canceled order we could get, but it never materialized.
So I'm hoping the 24s start to show up soon and maybe we will actually get one of them. But I fear the contract will expire and we would have to pay more for same-same, essentially. Really not happy with the ordering process at Lexus.

‘Hopefully Lexus will maintain the price as I do not see them making many changes from 23 to 24. Fingers crossed.

White w/macadamia was the thing holding up my allocation. The other interior colors were available with white, but not that interior color.

Too late! Prices are already up about 3% and it looks to me like another 2-4% is going to be the norm for the 2024s. So that is about 5K on the same equipped 2024 RX 350h.
