Default Multiple Beeps Upon Locking?

For the last few days I’ve noticed that, when locking after driving, the vehicle beeps, then pauses, then beeps 8 (I think) more times?

I noticed if the rear seatbelt are buckled in, the beeps will trigger so maybe check your rear seatbelts?! Or maybe doors (including tailgate) are still open?!

Close! Thanks for the tip that led me to the answer: it’s the “make sure you get your kid outta the back seat” warning. It beeps like that if you opened a backseat door (to put in something, perhaps a child) before you started driving.

That’s what it is! Thank you.

There is a setting in the infotainment system where you can turn off rear seat warning and also the phone app. One of the first things we did since hardly anyone sits in the back.

Question 10 beeps under one scenario

I just purchased a 2024 RX 500h. Something is odd and hopefully someone here can tell me what is going on.

When I lock/unlock the car via the key fob or touching the door handle, I hear one to two beeps.

If I'm exiting the car after driving it and lock the door, I hear 10 beeps.

I checked all four doors and none of them are open thinking one of the doors is not fully closed.

Any ideas what is going on?

Yes, it is back door reminder for you check back seat. It is pre caution so you don't forget a small child in car seat. It can be turned off via informant center under vehicle settings "back seat reminder" .
Its triggered because you open back door, but never re opened it.

Default Multiple beeps when locking

It has happened 3-4 times so far since we got the RX about 3 weeks back: Occasionally when I lock the car with the remote it beeps 3 or 4 times and when I click on the lock button on the remote again it locks the car. I couldn’t figure out what’s causing this. If it was something like door not shut properly the second attempt won’t lock it I presume.
in fact once when the door was not shut properly when I locked the car there was a really long beep not like these short 3-4 beeps
Anyone else experienced this? What could be causing this?

Sorry what tells me this? The app? Or is it displayed on the screen in the car?

It displays on the dash screen. If you opened the rear door, got in the car, and drove the car it will go off when you leave the car to remind you that you opened the rear door and maybe a baby is back there.

Oh wow. So say I opened the rear door and closed it. Got into my driver seat and drove away. Now when I stop and get out of the driver side and lock the car it will do the beeps? That’s kinda cool! After I get out it if I
open the rear door again and close it before I lock the car will not beep at that time?
