Just purchased a 2023 RX 350. This is my sixth Lexus. Since 2015 (at least) you could access the Weather radar map and weather forecast for your area. Can not find a place in the infotainment system to do this. I have a premium with Nav. Anybody have any ideas? Did they do away with this feature?

 

I feel you, my 2018 Rav4 had a way to see it directly by tapping on the menu. I haven’t been able to find a way to access it directly on the new infotainment display. But some of the functionality is still accessible using the voice assistant. Just say “hey Lexus, what’s the weather, show me the weather forecast, will it rain, etc.” I haven’t tried to see if there’s an actual weather Doppler radar of sorts.

 

I have it on my 2016 Golf R but it required a special Sirius/XM subscription and was worthless in the rural area I live so never used it.

 

I am kinda used to getting my weather info and maps on my iPhone.

 

The weather forecast is now only available by saying "Hey Lexus - show me the five day weather forecast" or "Hey Lexi, show me the weather today". I don't think a satellite map is available anymore. I also don't think you can access the weather through the menus. Only through Hey Lexus.

 

Wasn't the satellite weather map stuff an add-on service from Sirius/XM? I seem to recall my VW's weather maps requires that additional service. Since I don't live in a big city, it was worthless to me since it would show nothing.

 

Very poor weather coverage with this system.

When I use the the car’s voice system to ask about weather, all I get is the system reading a short one line text…no options for anything else. All I can think of is Apple CarPlay.

Seeing the size of the screen, the system could do far better!?

 

I get the accurate forecast the same way as TV forecasters: I look out of a window.



More seriously, I've installed a weather app (MyRadar) in Apple CarPlay. That way I can see which way the clouds/precipitation are going.
