Shoddy Paint ?
I just bought a 2018 brand new RX350 AWD with blue exterior color yesterday, the car looked great at delivery room so I didn't pay much attention on the paint when I picked it up yesterday. This morning I looked at my RX350 closely under the sun light, the car is still shining but I found a lot of white spots(please see attached pictures) around body, at the beginning I thought they are un-cleaned wax or water mark and can be removed with wet cloth, but later I found out that these spots can not be removed with wet cloth because they are under the clear coating layer! does anyone know what problem is? thank you!

Head back to the dealer if that is truly under the clear coat.

No, I don't play soccer!
nygolfer, I had similar spots when I took delivery of my '10 RXh. The dealer said it was from condensation trapped under the protective coating during shipping. They heated up the areas and the spots disappeared.

Thanks for sharing your experience. I will have the dealer to look at it tomorrow.

What do I know. Moisture trapped under clear coat (as shady as it sounds as bs explanation, as there is no moisture possibly at factory painting booths) even if "fixed" WILL result in paint flaking later down the road.
This is what i'd have done. Buy a paint thickness meter and go through that paint inch by inch. New car you say? So I have a buddy who used to work at paint guy for local Toyota dealership. He'll tell you stories, how many times NEW cars were damaged during loading/unloading, and repainted and sold as NEW. He personally had entire quarter panel replaced on a NEW Toyota when it slid off car carrier and racked itself. That it is "new" and comes from dealer means diddly squat.
Factory paint has to be about 1.1-1.3 mil all across. Start with areas inside pillar A door jamb. That's usually as factory paint as it goes. this will gauge paint thickness for you for the vehicle, as they vary slightly from car to car. Mercedes does thicker paint at around 1.6-1.8 mil. Japanese usually do 0.8 - 0.9 interior paint and around 1.2 exterior.
Also, look at any bolt you can find under the hood, for fenders and hood mounts. They should be same paint as car AND have no signs of being ever moved. Those bolts are placed where they need to be and PAINTED OVER at the factory. So if someone had hood/fender removed, it shows right away.

That's unacceptable on a Lexus, one of the reasons you buy a Lexus is for that perfect paint job.
@ukrkoz - Do you know the paint thickness on a Jap built Lexus? They have 5 layers on some models and 6 layers for the red on the RC's (probably others too).
