Default Does anyone know where this sound comes from (16RX)

My 16RX 450h FSport has issue again.
It keeps having this sound while driving.
While recording this sound, I turned off radio. So, they are not any radio noise.
I feel it comes from the front not from rear of the car. Not from brakes. May be from wheel.
And I have problem reproducing the noise as it comes out randomly whiling cruising on highway.
I do notice that it is more likely to happen (but not 100% of time) while cursing on highway with a right turn curve from a cold start.

Does anybody know what is going on?
I will have a hard time to show the dealer the problem as it is not easily to be reproduced
Any suggestions?

Thank you very much

sounds like a mouse inside haha.

Does it only happen when you are driving (like your car moving)? What happens when you idle? Also is it only when the fan is on?

Yes, only driving. Actually almost on highway if it happens. Local is fine.
When idle there is no sound as mine is hybrid.

Yes I had that and our technician knew exactly what it was, as it was not his first case.

Is it doing it when the car is shaking/rocking side to side?

It is the sun roof railing, more audible when opened tilted.

My dealer had the whole railing changed (they ripped opened the ceiling) and then added felt also for more sound insulation.

Yes, I do have a para sunroof. I will try to reproduce that in the same setting.

Thanks very much for the information.

Mine is not panoramic though, but I could reproduce when even only going at 10 MPH, just need a little bumpy road or parking lot...

Mine did the exact same noise as well. Only happened on the highway. I told myself I'm going to record it after I exit but the noise stopped when I was driving local. I did notice though that it was coming from the steering wheel. On mine, if I have the wheel off center and wiggle it very slightly, that's when the noise happen. Mine is a 2017 rx350 f sport.

Is it a F sport issue?

Anyway, I took my car to the dealer. Luckily, when the mechanic drove with me, we can reproduce the noise.
However, I left the car in the dealer ship for one day. They could not reproduce it.
So, they told me that they acknowledged the issue but was not able to do anything about it.
They asked me to wait until the noise becomes more frequent and come back. :-(
Anyway, they will submit the noise I recorded to Lexus.
Strangely that the noise did not come again this weekend.
Finger crossed.

not sure if it's an f sport specific noise. But I have heard it on my car as well. It hasn't happened on mine since that day either.

LOL! I thought I was the only one with this mystery noise!
Yes I have a 2016 F-Sport. The noise comes from the steering wheel. I haven't tried to open it up to take a look myself. It sounds like two pieces of styrofoam rubbing against each other.
It is very difficult to reproduce but it most likely happens in cold winter (blame Canadian winter!). I don't hear this other times. When the interior warms up it eventually disappears.
Also, I have to turn the steering wheel just a little bit to make that rubbing sound. If I turn it quickly it doesn't sound, or it produces a very faint rubbing sound.

Still not bother with the dealership because I know it's going to be very difficult to reproduce this. What if they take so many things apart and can't find anything (if you can't reproduce the noise you can't trace what is the source) and end up with more noise later!

See the video I recorded.

Sounds like metal-to-metal. Maybe the electrical contact points from steering wheel to hub or the steering wheel solenoid locking mechanism not fully disengaging until later?
