What the heck was that sound in the 450H?

test drove used FWD hybrid and it sounded a small hair dryer going off in the back even at idle.

There is a fan/vent beneath the rear bench which activates to cool down the batteries.
BTW...450h only comes in AWD.

No doubt the the seat fan was on high. One of the two fans in the seat is right behind your head. I leave mine on manual and on low speed and you never hear it.

Other than that, what did you think of the 450h?

dchar is correct, RX450h's are AWD. One of the only way to tell that a gas RX350 is AWD or not
is the AWD button on the console next to the Traction Control Defeat button. Because the 450h
drives the rear wheels electrically rather than mechanically there is no second button...as in a FWD 350.
