Same here, 20% to match the rears. When I had the fronts tinted on my wife's 15 last year the installer told me the same exact thing.

Dang. Prob gonna go with 20% to match the rears too.
Most likely going to get 3M Crystalline because of the warm sun in socal!
I also heard of opticoat that you can apply on your leather seats (or non leather nulux) which protects it!

Since our RX will be primarily driven by the wifey and she has sensitive eyes, we're going to put on 50% tint on the fronts just reduce glare and also hope the cops won't notice there's tint on the front so she doesn't have to deal with window tint tickets. I'm also going to put a 20% windshield strip which i normally do for all of my cars...

This is what I am planning: Hopefully I can get a good deal
3m Color Stable 20% on FRONT windows
3m Color Stable 50% on Rears because of added factory glass tint already at 20%???
3m Color Stable 5% pano roof
3m Crystalline 90% on Windshield
Does anyone know if adding tint to the windshield affect the COLOR HUD display in any way?

Hmm. 35% on the rears on TOP of the 20% factory tinted windows and it looks like that? Wow. I was planning on getting 50% but I may change my mind to something darker since it appears the tint doesn't really get darker from the factory tinted windows. Looks good !

I have been reading a lot about tint. I have am considering ceramic tint as we have a infant child and we live in southern california.
I am comparing Huper Optik vs 3M Crystalline
Ideally I would tint the front windshield 50% just for heat/UV purposes. Fronts 20%, rears, 40%.
I also found this thread https://www.clublexus.com/forums/gs-...ik-tint-2.html
Anyone have any input please chime in, thanks!

IF anything, it would help reduce glare from headlights.
Just be mindful in dark parking spaces, etc.

I still haven't gotten a definite answer on how it looks when adding tint to the factory tint. But I know it's most likey the same in the older RX. So yes, if I were you, 20% everywhere and 5% pano roof is the way to go!

I put the 35% tint exactly for that reason. Didn't want any difficulty seeing out the back at night. So far it's been just fine. I can see easily out the back. But I kinda regret that when its 90 degrees and sunny and I wish it was more darker. Overall though I wouldn't compromise my night vision and am happy with the 35s.

I'm hoping if I go darker with the tint it will match looking out. I was thinking 15% all around but maybe a little to dark at night. With it being 20% from factory and you put 15% on it that might knock it down to 5%. I think the best thing to do is get to the tint shop and hold samples up at the windows to see what works.
