The windows are called "privacy glass". They have no effect on UV whatsoever and does not keep heat out. Most will recommend tinting over them for the UV protection and heat reduction. I've been told they are around 20%.
That looks great. Any idea what percentage ting they used? I'm gonna guess somewhere between 25-35%
Thanks. They used 20% to match the rear windows. They appear a bit lighter than the rear windows because of proximity of the front windows to the windshield.
However, there are caveats to consider -- as stated on the website:
"TintLaws.com brings you the latest tint laws and regulations in your state by gathering data from various sources in order to provide you with the most accurate up-to-date information possible. However, please keep in mind that as things change, the data might not always reflect the lastest changes in your community.
"There have been cases where tint laws and regulations differ slightly from region to region, in the same state even. This is mostly due to the way these laws and regulations are interpreted by each district.
"Because of this, we always advise and encourage you to turn to your local authorities last, in order to ensure that the information you have reflects the laws enforced in your specific area."
[If you exceed the maximum tint %, your car won't pass annual inspection required to renew license plate.]
Furthermore, In NC a sheriff or deputy, policeman, or State Trooper can pull you over and give you a ticket for IMPROPER EQUIPMENT if he feels he cannot SEE your face thru the driver's window. [I don't blame them one bit...I'd like to know who & what I'm about to walk up on too.] Even if you somehow beat the ticket in traffic court (e.g., using a photometer and documenting the reading), it's a hassle.
