Question Scratching noise from the engine

Hi everyone, just noticed yesterday the engine started to make this scratching noise when it's running. I've attached a video, hopefully you can hear it over the engine noise. Please advise what this could be?

Pull the engine cover off and using a very long screw driver listen for the noise location. Watch this video for more useful info.

Thanks. I made an appointment with the dealership and am taking it in tomorrow morning. Don't really feel comfortable with a screwdriver especially around the engine .

That's a possibility, perhaps even the valves since the vehicle has about 90K on it. We'll find out tomorrow.

At 90K, that engine has a long way to go presuming proper maintenance history.

Yup I've been keeping up with regular service and maintenance. Always have it done at the dealership. I'm hoping this isn't something too serious because I love the vehicle.

I took it to the dealership and they found the noise was coming from a faulty water pump. They replaced the pump under warranty and the issue is fixed.

Just a guess, but it could be the water pump pulley that is making that noise.
