2018 RX350 without paddle shifter
Is there a way that I can tell what gear the transmission is in without influencing what gear it chooses? I know that I can use S mode but if I understand it correctly while I'm in S mode the display only indicates the maximum gear that is available for the transmission to choose. So the display does not tell me what gear I'm in. Just what the maximum gear can be. As noted in the title I don't have paddle shifters.
If anyone is familiar with the Jeep Grand Cherokee, the dash always displayed which of the 8 transmission gears you were in. I found that very informative. With the frequent shifting in my RX I'm basically curious if it downshifts from 6 to 3 when I press the gas pedal a bit too much and get more acceleration than I want.
