Allstate Insurance gives you a discount if you use their version of the app. In addition to hard braking, it tracks time of day that you drive, speeding over 80 mph, and instances of phone usage while the vehicle is moving. I'm not sure why they're still insuring me ,,,, LOL

they'll insure anyone willing to pay their absurd rates.
That's interesting, I do not have the "Drive Pulse" or "Recent Trip" cards in my Lexus app.
My app has both of those. I noticed when I had the 2016 NX and 2019 ES that the app displayed different data depending on vehicle. Newer car displays more details of course. What year is your vehicle.

I had a 2015 GS and have a 2017 RX, neither show this option on the Lexus app. I have not updated the app recently in the Google Play store. Was this a recent addition or was it always there?

It appeared with my 2019 ES, and of course on the RX 450h I just brought home yesterday. I could swear it was originally called “Driver Score” but perhaps that is just my imagination.
I'm nearly certain what appears in the app as Drive Pulse was called Driver Score until very recently. The concept is amusing. When you live in the hills, what the app calls "Harsh Cornering" and "Harsh Braking", we call "driving."

I have State Farm and they offer the same program. I opted-out installing a beacon in my Chevy SS. Hard to keep her tamed sometimes not really my fault.
Our State Farm agent said the discount would be about $20 semi-annually if the score was high.
Didn't say what it might rise to if I actually drove the car so I passed on the opportunity!

Besides, do you really want State Farm (or any other auto insurer) tracking your every move in your car? Where and when you go, and where and when you stop information could be a goldmine that companies would be hungry to buy. To say nothing of the dangers to you if that data were to fall into criminal hands. Just guessing, but I bet that information is worth a lot more than $20 semi-annually to State Farm.

I do use this product. I do NOT represent State Farm in any way, but I would like to clarify this comment and perhaps add some context. First, you don't have to use the product in every car - so if you have a fun hotrod and don't want State Farm to know how you are driving it, then just don't apply for the discount on that particular vehicle. It does monitor your driving and it will ding you for phone use during driving, as well as fast braking, excessive acceleration, speeding and fast cornering. As long as you drive reasonably and don't routinely exceed more than 5 mph over the limit, it is pretty easy to get a good score. Here is the print screen from my current "Drive Save and Save" app. The discounts listed are based on six month premiums, so you can see it is considerably more than $20. When we were driving more (pre-covid) the discounts were even higher. My wife and I have had good luck with this and while I might drive just a touch closer to the posted limit now than I did before, we haven't altered any other driving behaviors.
