Default Advise on buying used 2016-2018 RX

I currently own a 2007 RX350 and am looking into buying a used 2016-2018 RX. My current RX has 350,000 miles (I put in a used engine at 275,000 when the timing chain failed). Overall, I have been very pleased with my 2007 and feel it has served me well. I have seen some reviews on the newer RX models that have given me concern. I am not opposed to the 450h model. Any advise would be appreciated.

Additional thought: I am open to an NX as well. Should I be?

We have a 2018 RX450h; it is a great SUV. It does so much well.
I do not understand why a $60K vehicle does not have Apple Car Play / Android Auto.

Otherwise, the RX is great. I think you will love it.

You might want to look at the 2021 Toyota Venza too.

I would start with a 2018 if you're buying used (CPO), and work your way up from there.

Agree about the Venza. 40 mpg for a vehicle that size is impressive. The panoramic roof that becomes smoked with a push of a button is a cool feature for blocking bright sun. The XLE the top of the line with all options is very hard to beat for $41,000.

If buying used I would stay away from the The panoramic roof. Some Lexus owners had problems with them and a very expensive repair out of pocket. There's posts on the forum about it. I've never owned a Venza but this is my 2nd RX350 (2016 & 2020) so far they have performed well with no problems. I had 30k miles on the 2016 before trading for the 2020. You definitely won't get no where near 40mpg I average 25-28 city/hwy using mid grade gas. Depending how you drive and stop & go city traffic it could be lower.

Venza/RX apples and oranges. Venza seems more like a RAV4 to me but nothing wrong with that - it's just not an RX.

Your sweet spot may be a 2018. I love mine, at 30+K miles. It's 3 model years old now, so probably 30% depreciated, yet mine still feels new, to me (maybe it's just the new tires LOL). If you can find one with 25K miles and $35 - $40K, I'd say snap it up..

I agree with this post here. I picked up my RX three years old, 20k miles, 37k. Drives like new.

My only regret with my 2018 RX350 F-Sport which was bought new. It doesn't have CarPlay built-in. I went with an aftermarket solution which isn't great. Lexus was late to the game and only started adding CarPlay to the 2020 models.
