RX noob: tell me some cool things about the new ride
Bought a black on black 2014 model for my wife this week. Non-GPS version. What are some cool things about it we should know, like the umbrella holder under the passenger seat?

No, I don't play soccer!
Kyle76, welcome to CL and congrats on your RX. Awesome color combo! I'd start with the owners manuals. They're full of useful information to help you enjoy your 350. Also take a look through this forum to get members' exoerience. Some of the more popular threads are stickied up top like tips and tricks. And check out the Lexus Personalized Settings found in the FAQ thread. You can make some changes yourself. The rest is done by the dealer during your first free service.
Before you start, post info and a picture of your RX (it's mandatory) here.

Welcome and congrats on the new ride.
Number one on my list would be to check out the hidden manual storage in the center console.

The pursuit of F
^^^ That's a nice discovery indeed.
Congrats and as kitlz mentioned, post pics and don't forget the interior. We often just post pics of the exterior and forget about the nice interior! Also, we'd like to see the rare non-NAV display and Display Audio Controller.

Is that the area hidden below the console bin? If so, what do people keep in the little area underneath the console that is accessible from both front seats?

If you leave mirror adjustments in either L or R positions, mirrors will tilt when you back-up. Took me a while to figure out why they stopped tilting one day. As already mentioned, get the rear door button reconfigured at the dealer to auto-open the hatch instead of unlocking.
P.S.
Congratulate yourself on not getting the Nav, which would have removed the AC button from the console.

Kyle76 -
Saw your other thread about the incessant beeping of the Parking Assist and I have a solution.
Check out a smartphone app called Carista ( http://www.caristaapp.com/ ). This app, along with an inexpensive OBDII reader will let you change all of the customized settings for your RX. One of those settings allows you to limit the Parking Assist beeps to only 3 seconds. Works great for drive-thru's. I just did mine yesterday.

Cool things...
Just when I was going to tell you to get the hatch button reconfigured to auto-open, someone beat me to it.
We saved a great deal of time by having the Technology Support people at the dealer pair our cell phones to the car, and tell us what we could and could not do, cell phone wise. The Sirius radio signal will time out in three months. We didn't sign up.
I recommend having a chat with a service advisor and go over what the free oil change(s) include and don't include.
We think the puddle lights, on the side-view mirrors, are cool. It's as if the car is saying hello when you walk up to it.
These aren't all cool things, but I love to expound.

*** I do want to mention I came across a factory freak last month. It was a 2013 RX, very very base, but it had the 2012 Console so no RMT or DAC and yet it had BSM. One of the strangest Lexus I've come across. I would have taken pictures but the owner would have asked me what's wrong. It was almost as if Lexus had some extra 2012 parts lying around so they slapped that '12 console onto a '13

raylor4 - You can indeed set the seat memory to respond to the key fob, at least for the 2010 MY, and I would bet a doughnut that every MY has the same capability.
It is described on p. 70 in the 2010 Owner's Manual. I don't know where it is for other years.
Essentially, you position the seat, etc.the way you like, then set into one of the 3 memories.
Then, with ONLY the key you want to pair up in the car, while holding down the desired memory button (1, 2, or 3) press the driver's door lock or unlock until you get a beep.

Thank you so much for the tip. I'm all over this like chocolate syrup on a sundae.
I will revise my post.
