This is why I bought some good tools and starting working on my own cars. I will also do your brakes for $1850, and toss in a coupon. As dibl said, time for a different shop or a set of wrenches.

@mrcheap I suggest using Lexus of Route 10, the entire team is excellent.

Thanks for the tips Eddie, but I can handle the brakes and quite frankly i think the other stuff is bs esp at 25k.

i don’t believe in the 15k 25k etc $120 tire rotation services.....

I dont believe any modern car needs anything other than oil changes, filters and brakes <100k

i only brought it in for the recall and some squeeks

At least they fixed your TSB issues. I'm still trying to find a dealer that is willing to do it and not just claim that everything is normal. Yea your wheel fell off? That's the normal functionality of the car.

Yea I am surprised they are taking care of my issues

the service guy was sort of a jerk when I mentioned there maybe bulletins for these, saying he never heard anything

I was waiting for them to say yea we can’t find anything wrong. Maybe they thought I’d be a sucker and agree to the repairs.

You never know what they will try to pull off.

I showed them the TSB, and they said, first of all, I am not suppose to have this information, whoever sent me this should be disciplined(excuse me???), second of all, we can not diagnose if you can't replicate the problem(the suspension squeaks only happened in low temperature, and they have witnessed it and lubed it twice already), we don't want to fix something that is not broken, blah blah blah. And then the usual BS that everything is normal and the designed functionality of the car. What, you said the AC has a gurgling sound? Sorry I can't hear it. Your wiper streaks because potentially the spring is not strong enough? Sorry that's the "designed functionality of the car". Transmission hesitation? That's just you are not used to this "new" transmission.

My warranty also ends in 1000km, i am pretty sure all those "normal functionality of the car" will not be normal once its out of warranty and they will be happy to charge $$$ to fix it.

My plan is to call up multiple dealers so see if anyone of them in my area wants to perform any warranty work

Thats because they hire school kids or apprentices on the minimum wage and charge out at Lexus mechanic rates to make maximum profit. So anything non routine they simply will not do as they don’t have the skills for it.

Of course they never hear anything. It’s not notified apart from recalls. They actually have to use TIS and display the specific TSB by entering in your chassis number. It about 10mins of work on the computer and they can’t be arsed.

Attaching pics of the brakes and new trailing arms. They also replaced the left lift gate strut and reprogrammed the trans. Haven't had to much seat time for a verdict on the trans, I will report once the ECU has "relearned" my driving habits.

Anyway service manager said the brakes where 4mm Front and 3mm Rear

You guys decide.

Btw can i edit the title of the string to "now with pics" - wasnt sure if this is possible by a thread starter or a mod

Thanks!
