Dynamic Cruise
I am trying to figure our when is the best time to change lanes when using the dynamic cruise control. When the multi function screen shows the car ahead I assume this means it detects the a car. Is this when I should change lanes (multi lane highway)? Its hard to tell if the RX is slowing down without a digital speedometer.
Change lanes when you feel like it and the left lane is clear. It's not much different than when using traditional cruise control. Changing lanes to pass as soon as your vehicle detects a vehicle ahead may cause other drivers to see you as a "lane hog". Stay alert and involved and don't "zone out" like some drivers do when they have dynamic cruise control.
I usually change lanes to pass before my vehicle slows down if the left lane is clear. I often toggle among the following distance intervals as I approach a vehicle ahead that's in my lane. It's become automatic for us but it's been over 6 years since we last owned a vehicle that didn't have dynamic cruise control.
