Default Possible to have DRL's on when remote started?

Hi all,

Is there any setting to have the DRL's (or any exterior lighting) turn on when the car has been remote started? I can't seem to find anything.

I doubt it. Probably not a great idea to draw that attention.

Try moving the light switch from Auto to the low beam setting before you shut off the engine. Then exit your RX and lock it with your remote verifying that your headlights turned off. (You might have to press the lock button on the remote twice.) Remote start your RX and see if the headlights turn on. This works on a particular Toyota with remote start but maybe it won't on an RX.

I thought they come on as soon as the engine starts? Absolutely the case with my ES but never checked on the RX.

The DRL doesn't come on until the engine is started and the parking brake is released.

Almost every other car does it with remote start, not anything new. It gives a visual indication that your car is started. Also, i like that if my wife has to park in a dark parking lot/garage then she feels a little safer with the car's lights on as she walks to it.

I get your point, but that could be a two-edged sword, as mikemu pointed out earlier.

Yeah I've noticed the dealer enables the auto brake as well every time I'm in for service. I immediately turn it off.

Just curious.....why do you want it off? I've always left mine on auto and have never had any issues.

I'd be curious as well, I leave my parking brake set to AUTO also.
