Build Date
I have a 2020 450h on order with a build date of 11-1.
Does that mean that it will start the build process on 11-1, or is that the completion of the process?
I also wonder how long the build process actually takes from welding the body together, paint process and final assembly.
I live in the pacific northwest and the sales guy is telling me to expect it here end of November or fist part of December .
Any information would be appreciated.

The complete assembly line of a car runs 6 feet per minute. The White Body (Unibody) is built first (the shell - no frames anymore) and this will go through probably 35 assembly stations. After 1 hour and 10 minutes, a completely assembled car rolls out the line. Then there will be a series of tests on the car, one major test is a 100 year rain simulation to check for leaks which is actually located in the end of the line. The main re-work done is related to paint defects, which are addressed by experts on re-work. Then it goes through a series of other tests, including the Dynamometer, Electrical, Wheel alignment plus others. The car should be assembled and tested and re-worked within a day. Then it waits and sits in the parking lot until they are loaded in to Trains and then Trucks for delivered to the dealerships.
So the estimate of about 4 weeks seems to be decent timeline.
