Default GraceNote Update

2016 RX450h Driver with a question: how do we update the Gracenote database on our vehicles? There is a menu item on the vehicle that calls for inserting a USB flash drive with an updated database file, but I can't find a web link anywhere to obtain such a file. Spoke to my dealer's "tech" person and they said these updates occur automatically when the car's system updates its own software wirelessly. But I've been suspect of this since the vehicle has had wireless software updates and the Gracenote database never updated from the original.

What am I missing? Thanks.

gracenote and maps data won’t be updated automatically. It needs to go through dealer. I doubt that toyota/lexus actually update gracenote via USB at the dealer also. Basically, gracenote can’t be updated. And I wouldn’t pay a couple hundred dollars to update the gracenote database, which is eventually outdated within a month.

wireless update will only update the enform software, not other parts such as maps and gracenote.

that’s what I knew, and I gave up on looking the way to update them.

2017 LS460. The update didnt work, not sure if the filename wasnt right or whatever. That link is for TOYOTA cars, so Lexus naming convention is different for updates possibly. The media center update for a 2016 LS was named "15LWENNA-AB01_0003". So even with proper update it might not work if not named correctly. It appears that 2016 is basically last year I found Lexus gracenote update stuff. You can't get update directly from Gracenote, vehicle engineers customize updates per mfg. This is screen I trying to update it from.
